Mayan Calendar Countdown (The Changing Landscape)

As we experience our own lives changing by the minute, we can’t help noticing that everything around us is also in great flux.
As I mentioned in my article,”Mayan Calendar Countdown -The Status Quo Meets Transformation” - the Mayan’s message speaks of an ever increasing quantum leap toward higher consciousness for mankind. So we will have to match the massive external changes with the depth, quality and character of our internal transformation.
With everything in such deep transition, I certainly can see how important it is right now to be light on our feet and willing to ride the waves of this high sea. Many people will find themselves in some uncomfortable positions as certain jobs simply disappear off the horizon and they are forced to change. Things that used to be OK to live with, just will not work anymore. The name of the game will be “movement to higher ground” and becoming a master of navigating new waters. Actually, as the old crumbles, new things will fill in the void. There will be many new and better opportunities. The trick is to see them and act on them, rather than clenching down and resisting the changes.
I experienced this phenomenon on a personal level this past year, when my husband and I came to a fork in the road with our former business. We needed to change things on many levels, either grow and get really large, or let go of it altogether - because we simply couldn’t keep up and didn’t want to do it all ourselves any more.
I didn’t want to let it go, since we had put so much into it for the last 5 -6 yrs., but all the factors just weren’t coming together. One night, when the full realization hit me, I basically had a good old fashioned “melt down” sobbing and sobbing, angry and upset - declaring that I didn’t want to start all over again in a new business - I wanted this to work!! I have been through many changes in my life and usually was pretty good at this letting go process - but quite frankly, I was tired of having to let go all the time - couldn’t something just work out once in awhile?
Well, I got to see what resistance, stress and worry will do, as shortly after this experience, I went down for the count. I got really, really sick. My intestines locked up and I was the sickest I’ve ever been and didn’t come out of it for a full month. The lesson was imprinted deeply on my whole body - DON’T RESIST THE CHANGES!
After slowly getting well again, we finally made the decision to let go and tell our distributors we were stopping production. Interestingly enough, within two days of making that decision, we had a wonderful new opportunity show up for us! It has already proven itself to offer much greater potential and larger horizons for us than our original endeavor. I got to see first hand, that in this landscape, you HAVE to let go, so you can make room for the new. Powerful lessons learned - that won’t be forgotten.
I was talking with someone awhile back about how drastically the internet has changed the entire landscape for everyone. Personally, I see this wide open territory that spans the whole globe, (the internet) as the primary factor that will fill in that void I was speaking about earlier.
I also see the nature of the internet acting as a positive force to change the way people interact and do business. The “old paradigms” just don’t hold up in this new setting. People are finding that they HAVE to cooperate, help each other, link together, so that all of us will benefit. We can’t do it in the old competitive, protective, isolated way of the past. The internet is fostering a much
needed idea of the world being one whole community - rather than the US versus THEM mentality - which is redefining the model for standard, corporate America.
One big and interesting change I’ve noticed, has happened in the area of media. In the traditional world, outside the internet, the “powers that be” were gaining bigger and bigger monopolies and maintaining tighter controls over who had a voice and what was being said. Just as they were making the tightest squeeze play -all of the sudden the internet starts going crazy with blogging, audio pod casting and videos on YouTube giving EVERYONE an equal voice and opportunity. Now people can write their own E-book and publish it themselves and reap all the proceeds, instead of paying
it all to the publishers. All of these new venues began creating an even playing field for the “little guy” and totally changed the landscape - SIGNIFICANTLY threatening the status quo for all the players.
These changes my seem subtle on a day to day basis, but as we look back at the last 10 to 15 years, we certainly can’t miss the massive changes and note the powerful impact they have had on all of us. This is the primary thing here, that there has been a very fast paced evolutionary process that is taking us to new territories, internally and externally. The message of the Mayans is that this pace is exponentially speeding up as we reach the end of the calendar and enter a whole new phase of higher consciousness for Mankind.
