 Mayan Calendar Countdown

(The Status Quo meets Transformation)

We will include a number of articles under this title, all relating in some way, to the massive changes that are taking place on the planet now.  NO - it isn’t something that anyone can stop or make go away. Actually, once we begin to understand the nature of these changes, we can begin to embrace them and learn how to work WITH them, instead of fearing or resisting them.

Even though most of the time you hear about the “external”, physical changes of the weather, tides, eruptions, earth quakes and Global warming, etc. - the “Real” changes are occurring “internally”

-inside of you and me.  In fact, the true “Message” of the Mayan Elders through the Mayan Calendar was regarding the change of consciousness in Mankind as we speed toward the “Shift of the Ages”. This is actually GOOD NEWS.

Sometimes I think that  all the threatening, fearful predictions serve as a wake up call for many - so they may have there place, but actually, according to Dr. Carl Johan Calleman, scientist, cancer researcher, expert  in the World Health Organization and author of “Solving the Greatest Mystery of our Time: The Mayan Calendar” the message is one of Unity and a new paradigm for the Planet.

This calendar is actually not recording time in the traditional way, it is recording the major shifts in consciousness as we proceed through each of the steps on the step pyramid. The steps indicate the stages that mankind and the planet have gone through. The calendar is exponential in nature, ie. more and more is happening in shorter and shorter amounts of time.

I’m sure we can all relate! It seems that life is speeding up to an almost ridiculous pace, leaving us feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. It looks like we will probably continue to be in for a wild ride as we experience  the last few years of the “Mayan Calendar Countdown” with October 28, 2011 being the completion date (according to Calleman). Things will be speeding up even more in these last few years.

One important thing to note, is that we are not speaking of “The End Times” in the negative sense, we’ve all heard about. We are speaking of “the end of time as we know it.”  A whole new “enlightened” paradigm is what is being called forth as humans and the planet raise in frequency and consciousness. I have felt this to  be the truth for a long time now - that we are going forward into the new and positive rather than ending in catastrophe. However, it does appear to be a time where the old and the new are vigorously colliding. The old power structure certainly isn’t going to let go easily, as we witness daily, in the news.

So what does all of this mean for you or me? I believe that the primary concept  here is about self knowledge and and the willingness to transform ourselves. It involves the process of moving our attention from the externals of life to the internal truths that lie inside of us. It seems that through all of this external clamor we  will be  forced to go within, to our calm center, to find our answers. Now is the time to pull out the stops and really put into practice all of the spiritual knowledge we’ve gained.

In the title, it says “the status quo meets transformation”. That sounds good, but what does it really mean when we apply it to our day to day lives? Well, get ready, it looks as if it will mean big changes for all of us as we truly implement living fully CONSCIOUS lives.

Let’s start with a simple everyday thing, like the fact that most people (in America) can’t even imagine what life would be like without television, and don’t even realize how profoundly it is affecting our entire  belief system and our thought patterns.  It is just the way the world is, to turn on the tube and be inundated with ideas, products, fearful warnings, information and directives, all claiming that they are the authorities we should listen to.

As we all have been learning that “thoughts are things” and that our subconscious mind is busily creating our reality every moment - we start to “get it” that all of this unauthorized input is running our life!

The old paradigm said that if we were all stressed out, living in an unhealthy body or situation, we could blame all of the externals, other people, etc. for the problem. Not any more, we can’t!  Full self responsibility is the name of this game.

Actually, in many ways, the old paradigm has encouraged us to give our responsibility away to all of the authorities out side of ourselves. Like our health, the directive states that we should NEVER do anything without consulting our physician first, as if we have absolutely NO possible understanding about what might be best for us. We can see this trend changing as folks are moving to many other alternatives rather than just standard medicine. We are learning how to work WITH the body, to listen to it and let it guide us, instead of shutting it down, suppressing the symptoms and wondering why things backfire later on.

It is going to be more important than ever to be able to listen to our internal gyroscope and discern truth from fiction as many disparate forces spar for our attention.

This holds true on the environmental front as well, as we realize that nature is insisting that we listen to her.  Infact, I believe that this is also one of the main concepts inherent in the“message” of the Mayan Calendar. It is saying that  everything is alive! We need to work WITH Nature and the natural flow of events or we will reap many undesirable consequences (which, of course is already happening) The old “status quo paradigm” applauds the “Man over Nature” Western Mechanical Model that says - Man can conquer and disregard the natural forces and simply rule over everything as he wishes. Not so my friends -things are changing rapidly, we are finding that we simply can’t disregard the truth any longer and get away with it.

We can see the changes happening as we have watched the huge growth of spirituality and self growth during the last 15 to 20 years. And this is what the Mayans indicated - that even though it looks like a challenging struggle to gain the upper ground, it is truly already happening. Now our assignment is to work with all of this knowledge we’ve accumulated and put it into full blown personal life practice every day. We can no longer have the luxury of being inquisitive students, constantly acquiring knowledge for the fun of it. It’s time for each of us to make our own personal commitment to being fully responsible for our lives and the mark we leave on this Planet.

So, really, it is all about going back to our core essence where the truth of life isn’t so distorted by the modern age which has pulled us further and further away from our simple, inherent truths.

That we are all ONE on his planet and that our choices, our thoughts and our actions DO matter.
