Enlightened Revolution from Within

Recently, I was remembering an interesting moment that took place about ten or twelve years ago. I was delving deeply into my spiritual understandings at that point, and very actively calling upon my Higher Self and Spirit Guides to lead me through life. One evening with friends, at a local restaurant, I got into a discussion with a fellow that was new to this group. He was avidly speaking about how important it was to be politically active, because that was the only way that things would change.
Suddenly I heard myself saying, with a real clarity and comfortable ease, that actually, things would change, only when each of us changed inside and worked with the higher forces toward the larger picture. I said, trying to physically move things around on the superficial level of life, would never do it. I’ll never forget his response!! He looked at me as if I had two heads, and then basically implied that I had my head in the clouds and that I was a total idiot.
Well, as I have watched the progress, or lack of it, politically and otherwise, over the years, I see the truth of my words more and more. Certainly there have been many well meaning people trying to change things for the better. The intentions are definitely correct and worthy, but we see over and over again, that all of the fighting back, protests and such, have become even less effective than ever. We also, have all been reminded through the “manifestation” discussions recently, ie:“The Secret” that… what we resist -persists.
We are coming into a time of understanding and utilizing our own inner power to create from the inside out. That is the kind of higher consciousness the Mayans are referring to as we move into
a new enlightened age.
We have to start understanding, in a deep way, how cause and effect really works. The surface level of things (the life we see in front of us) is the “effect” - consciousness is the “cause”. We are just “moving the peas around on the plate” so to speak, when we try to create change externally. This whole “manifestation” frenzy is really helpful information for alot of folks, but we will need to use it on a much more profound level of awareness, to really get the job done. (There will be many more articles going into this discussion in depth.)
As I have continued to explore things on this planet, I have found that you truly can’t get an accurate picture, if you are up TOO CLOSE and if you stay on the superficial, surface level . It is more important than ever, to see what is happening on Planet Earth through the lens of a very large over view - understanding and seeing the effects of large cycles and powerful forces. Our tendency as humans, especially in the West, who are used to being in the position of power over the natural world, is to think that all we have to do is just FIX IT by some external action. We generally
only see things from our standard, limited perspective. All of the external solutions have always fallen short of the real goals. True harmony on the planet, true freedom, true equality, true abundance for everyone, etc., etc.
Luckily, actually, as we see the externals of the world looking worse and worse, the very EXTREME nature of it all, is serving the purpose of pushing us to not be so afraid of, or resistant to, the changes that are sweeping through everything. Humans tend to resist change because we really much prefer to feel safe, secure and have things be predictable. I certainly know from my own experience, that generally we won’t change until our back is to the wall and we’re down on our knees and know that we don’t have another choice! So, the long and short of it is, that these last few years of the Mayan Countdown is pushing us all forward even if we go kicking and screaming. (A little note: over time, II‘ve definitely found that we can be ahead of the curve, and not suffer so much, as we get better and better at going WITH the powerful flow that is happening now.)
